Inheritance fraud is when the victim is told that someone rich has died and the victim is in line to receive a huge inheritance. the fraudster claims him as a lawyer and sends email officially that the person sharing your family name has died and left behind a vast amount of money. The lawyer to get attention of the victims says that he is unable to trace any relatives of the person and the money will go to the government. the lawyer suggests that as the victim has the family name of the dead , he could pay the inheritance and suggest him that they will split the money among themselves. the fraudster will bring forth an offer that not to tell about this deal to make the victim take hasty decision.
However there is no inheritance or the fraudster isn’t a lawyer and will always give an excuse to sign up the deal. the fraudster may also ask your bank details so he can pay the inheritance directly into your bank account. Some of the measure to prevent ourselves from the inheritance fraud are to check whether the company is legitimate if so they will always track down the true heirs, the fraudsters document will always contain of grammar and spelling mistakes, a legitimate law firm wont track someone who isn’t the real heir of the deceased person, fraudsters often claim that the deceased person has died from due to plane crash and unable to use the identity of someone who really died in the crash and the fraudster always will use the webmail such a @yahoo or @hotmail as no legal firm will use it.
